About

Hi, I’m Gavin. Thanks for checking out my blog.

My best impression of Sam Neill, circa Jurassic Park…

By training I’m a Medical Biochemist, with over 8 years’ experience in industry, mostly drug development and clinical trials.

I cut my teeth working on biologics – man made mimics of natural human proteins used to treat disease – and therapeutic antibodies, such as CAMPATH.

Through this I’ve had the pleasure to work on treatments for a wide range of diseases, from cocaine addiction and hay fever to cancer and autoimmune diseases.

I’ve blogged here and there for many years now, but I finally decided to become a full-time freelance science writer in 2012. It’s been going pretty well and you can see some examples of the other things I’ve done on my Clips page, here.

The sciencehubb.co.uk blog is a place for me to practice, experiment (like audioblog posts), and write about anything I happen to find interesting. And hopefully somewhere you can find something enjoyable and interesting to read too.

Awesome, so how do I get hold of you if wanted to?

If you would like to contact me with any questions, get me to write something for you, or just because I sound so damn awesome, you can get hold of me through the following options:
